In Nazareth, everyone plays almost every sport. Basketball is probably the most recognized one though. Both the boys and girls have been great at basketball over the years. The girls have won 13 state championships(a record in Texas). The boys have been to state 3 times out of the past 5 years. Hardly ever do the teams not make it to at least the area game or the regional tournament. To make this even more hard to believe, Nazareth is located in the toughest basketball region in Texas. Tradition is a key factor at Nazareth. Sometimes teams are scared to play Nazareth because they know that the teams will always be good. Nazareth also has one of the toughest gyms for visiting teams to win in. It is very small and is full of screaming fans. When you walk in, all you see on the walls are banners for distric, area, regional, and state championships. Nazareth is just a town full of tradition.
